Welcome Negaunee Middle School to the new school year!

We are looking forward to a great school year filled with learning, growth, and community.

Prioritizing Regular Attendance: Our primary focus this year is attendance. Research consistently shows that regular attendance directly leads to academic success and student well-being. We need parents' help and support to encourage students to come to school consistently. While we ask that you please keep students home when they are truly sick, we strongly encourage attending school as much as possible outside of illness.

Technology Policy Update: In alignment with state regulations, Michigan has banned the use of personal Smart technology at school during instructional times. Our students have already done a great job keeping phones off and put away during the school day, and we will continue enforcing this policy to maintain a focused, engaging learning environment. This new state law also includes Smartwatches, which students will need to also keep off and in their lockers during the school day.  

We are so fortunate to have a caring community, an amazing and dedicated staff, and the most wonderful students. Thank you for your partnership in making our school a wonderful place to learn.
